Name: Pottery of Protest 3
Date: February 29, 2020
Time: 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM CST
Event Description:
Students and staff at the Lincoln Square Pottery Studio - Learning Center present their third annual Pottery of Protest exhibition.

LSPS-LC gets ready for another show of ceramic work inspired by politics, environmentalism, racism, sexism and whatever gets our artists heated! This year, students with the Beloved Ceramics Studio will also be showing work. Their studio is part of the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN), a community organization that fosters health, wellness and healing in Chicago. Proceeds from LSP-LC’s Buy-A-Cup Benefit during the opening will go directly to their ceramics program, so they can continue to do good work.

Snow Yu (born 1988 in Jingdezhen, China) will be this year’s Pottery of Protest judge. Yu has a one-year artist residency in Chicago, and is working on a series of life-sized figures that encompass isolation as well as understated issues that women encounter. Yu will award medallions in several categories, including Human Rights, Voice of the Voiceless, Peace, Politics and Policy as well as Conflict Resolution.

Join us, Saturday, February 29th from 7-10pm, for snacks, libations and an overall sense of purpose!
