    Nonprofit organizations generally foster a strong sense of community. As diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) remain forefront on everyone’s minds these days, could we be doing more to foster a welcoming environment?

    Join us on Thursday, October 8th when Big Buzz Idea Group Founder, Melissa Lagowski, will have a discussion with Tiffany Williams, Founder of TJ Marie Consulting and the Givly App, about DEI in the nonprofit arena.

    This session will offer an open discussion to help us all examine how to break through barriers, create a culture of inclusion and have meaningful conversations about race that will foster understanding and create a more welcoming environment for board, staff, donors, members and volunteers. Join us for a powerful discussion that will help us all recognize how we can overcome biases and affect meaningful change.

    About our Presenters

    Tiffany Williams is the Founder and Principal of TJ Marie Consulting and founder and CEO of Givly - a fintech donor engagement mobile app designed to harness the philanthropic spirit of donors and make it easier to give.. Tiffany offers ten years of leadership and nonprofit management experience, having successfully led teams and nonprofit organizations in securing nearly a billion dollars in philanthropic support for their causes and missions. Tiffany possesses extensive skill in developing and facilitating content and training presentations for influential corporate executives and stakeholders, board members, and major donors. Additionally, she is an influential voice in the philanthropic community, having facilitated workshops and presented on various fundraising topics as a thought-leader for the Association of Nonprofit Professionals (AFP), Young Nonprofit Network (YNPN), and the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits (ACN). Tiffany is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and resides in Chicago, Illinois. She received her BA and MBA from Florida A&M University.


    Melissa Lagowski created Big Buzz Idea Group in November 2004 so Chicagoland nonprofits would have an honest outsourcing partner to bring their largest projects to life. After raising nearly $6 million dollars for clients, Melissa is dedicated to providing full operational support that will allow charitable organizations to run more effectively. With 26 years of corporate and nonprofit experience, she has launched and executed large fundraisers, conceived several innovative and lucrative new programs (including her first virtual conference), coordinated a variety of dinners/awards functions and organized numerous conferences/workshops.. Awards and accomplishments include the Woman of Influence by The Chicago Business Journal (January 2016); the NAWBO Chicago Presidential Award of Excellence (2014); and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Graduate (2013).
