Northcenter Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the 47th Ward Public Service Office and Ald. Gene Schulter announce SSA #38, servicing the Northcenter community. Special Service Area (SSA) assessments provide funding for services that promote the community and economic development in Northcenter. Services that are funded can include:
- maintenance and beautification activities
- coordinated marketing and promotional activities
- parking and transit programs
- area strategic planning
- business retention and recruitment initiatives
- building facade improves
- security services
- technical assistance activities
Northcenter's SSA #38 covers Western Ave. from Montrose Ave. to Belmont Ave., Lincoln Ave. from Addison St. to Montrose Ave., and Irving Park Road from Ravenswood Ave. to Campbell Ave. A commission of nine Commissioners will consider and allocate funding for services in the area.
Recent Activities
June 2007 – 20 Sidewalk Planters emblazoned with Northcenter were placed around SSA #38 on N Western and N Lincoln Avenues and W Irving Park Road.
November 2007 – Awarded 2008 snowplowing contract to Tim’s Snowplowing.
