The Shop Northcenter program and the new shopnorthcenter.com web site

This is the single largest investment that the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce has made. This is an example of how the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce invests in its member businesses.

No other business membership organization that we know of has invested in a technology that allows its members instant access to the residents of the community, but now it’s up to you to use it to your advantage.

Here’s how it works:

• All of our members will be able to log into the new northcenterchamber.com web site and update their company profile page remotely – meaning any time, from anywhere that you have an internet connection.
• In your profile, you will have the ability to upload pictures (logo, photos, etc.) to personalize and brand your page. You will also have the ability to customize the description of your business – no one can explain what you do better than you.
• Now the big deal - you will be able to post exclusive specials and promotions to help get other chamber members and the residents of Northcenter in your door. You can set a start and ending date for the promotion, have multiple promotions at the same time or post specials specific to certain days of the week and change or update them any time you want, remotely.
• Your promotions will post instantly, no waiting for anyone to approve and post a day or two later. This way, you’re always in control of what promotions are posted and when.
• To help track the success of the specials and promotions you post, the businesses and residents can print out your special and bring it to you – just like tracking a coupon, except they get it instantly when they are looking for a certain product or service and print it any time they want to use it.
• To add to the urgency of your posted special, all of our members are connected to the @shopnorthcenter Twitter feed, so go ahead and tweet out your new special instantly to all of our followers.
• The Northcenter Chamber of Commerce will invest further to promote this resource to the 10,000+ residents of Northcenter and beyond as part of our Shop Local | Shop Northcenter campaign.

Here are the benefits of Shop Northcenter to our residents:

• They will have one source for information and specials for all of our local businesses. From accountants to restaurants to wireless services and every type of business in between, they can see where you are, a customized description of your business and all of the specials and promotions you’ve posted.
• They can also do comparison shopping by looking at different postings from others in your category - so it’s important to have a compelling offer.
• For the restaurants, not only can potential diners see descriptions and specials at our member establishments, but they can see all of the specials at all of our member restaurants for the week or for a particular day.
• As mentioned above, those who follow the @shopnorthcenter Twitter feed will instantly get new promotions as soon as you post them.
• The whole idea is to get residents to think about doing business with Northcenter businesses first and this web site will give them a huge incentive.
