    Development Assistant Job Description
    Reports to: Director of Development
    Classification: Non-exempt (part-time), 20 hours per week

    Summary
    The Development Assistant will support the Director of Development to achieve all departmental goals. Responsibilities include helping with development functions and assisting with the creation of marketing collateral for special events including but not limited to: the Leaders of the Future Scholarship Dinner, Golf Outing, Lagunitas Social, Cubs Night, Bears Bash, etc.

    Essential Functions
     Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters and other correspondence
     Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files
     Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed
     Continually update and correct database records
     Track tax deductible monetary and in-kind donations in the database and keep a file for each donor
     Send appropriate documentation to process credits to donors
     Design and produce special events’ marketing collateral (i.e. event flyers, invitations, sponsorship opportunities packet, day of event signage, etc.)
     Co-manage and update website and social media platforms
     Assist with the coordination of pre-event, day-of-event, and post special events activities such as event registration process and marketing outreach
     Create newsletters and annual reports
     Handle all administrative details associated with the Resource Development Committee meetings (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, agendas, minutes, etc.)
     Recruit and manage volunteers for special events and projects
     Other duties assigned by the Director of Development

    Education and Experience
     Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in in a related field
     A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative position
     Excellent verbal and written communication skills
     Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
     Proficiency in Google products, MS Office Suite, Publisher, and other donor management software applications
     Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, Camtasia/Dreamweaver or Canva is preferred but not required

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a part-time position. Evening and weekend work as required per the demands and expectations of the position. Occasional travel as necessary.
